During EFCA’s General Assembly in Istanbul (4 June), EFCA confirmed several important appointments to its Board while Inés Ferguson started a second three-year term as EFCA President.
Inés Ferguson begins second three-year term as EFCA President
Following her successful first mandate, Inés Ferguson begins her second term as EFCA President. Since taking office in 2023, Inés has championed sustainable and quality-based procurement, strengthened cooperation with the European Investment Bank and other stakeholders involved in Global Gateway Projects, and promoted diversity in leadership. She also secured a new partnership agreement with the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), strengthening cooperation between the European and global consulting engineering communities.
Her new term will focus on the strategic themes of AI and Data, Resilience, Security and Strategic Autonomy and Business and Market Conditions.
Jan Schmitt elected as EFCA Vice President
The General Assembly also elected Jan Schmitt as EFCA Vice President. With extensive experience in the consulting engineering sector and involvement in EFCA activities, Jan will support the President and Board in advancing the federation’s strategic priorities and representing the interests of the sector at European level.
Anders Persson and Eva Rindom begin second Board terms
The Assembly confirmed second three-year terms for existing Board Directors Anders Persson and Eva Rindom, recognising their valuable contribution to EFCA’s work and ongoing strategic initiatives. Their continued involvement will help ensure continuity and support the federation’s long-term objectives.
Jaap de Koning elected as new EFCA Board member
Finally, the General Assembly also elected Jaap de Koning as a new member of the EFCA Board. Bringing extensive sector expertise and international experience, he will contribute to EFCA’s mission of promoting a sustainable, innovative and competitive consulting engineering industry across Europe.
