Privacy policy

The European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations (EFCA) is an international non-profit association and governed by Title III of the law of 27 June 1921 on non-profit associations, foundations and international non-profit associations.

This privacy policy outlines how EFCA collects and uses your personal data when you use our services, including our website, and register for participation in our Committees and Working Groups, or attend any events we organise.

What data do we collect?

EFCA collects the following data:

  • Personal identification information if you are an EFCA staff member or on the EFCA Board (name, home address, email address, phone number, etc.)

    • have registered for one of our events (webinar, seminar, etc.).

How do we collect your data?

How will we use your data?

EFCA collects your data so that we can:

  • work with you in the context of delivering the Federation’s services to members;
  • collaborate with you on policy work;
  • invite you to the Federation’s events, such as the annual conference.

If you agree, EFCA may share your data with our Member Associations to facilitate effective networking. We will not share your data outside the Federation, its staff, Board, Member Associations, Committees or Working Groups.

How do we store your data?

EFCA takes all necessary measures to protect your personal data by applying technical and organisational security protocols to prevent unauthorised access and use.

While modern security measures are effective, no physical or digital system is 100% foolproof. We cannot guarantee absolute security for our databases, nor can we assure that information you send will not be intercepted during internet transmission. We will continue to update our policies and enhance security features as new technologies develop.

Information sent over the internet may not be fully secure and could be transmitted to countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA), often through cloud hosting services, email, or proprietary cloud-based software. We do not allow any third party outside EFCA (see previous point ‘How will we use your data?’) to use your data for their own purposes. Countries outside the EEA might not provide the same level of protection for your personal data. By submitting your data, you agree to its transfer, storage, and processing.

While we aim to protect your data, we cannot guarantee the security of data sent to us. Transferring data is at your own risk. Once we receive your data, we implement appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorised access.

How long do we keep your data?

In principle, EFCA will retain your personal information for six months. However, the retention period for different uses of information may vary depending on the nature and duration of the working relationship or to meet statutory or legal obligations:
